Rupert ElementaryThe PTA of Rupert Elementary School is hosting its second annual fall festival on Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The community is invited to attend for a day filled with fun.
The fall festival has something for everyone. There will be a variety of foods offered including hot dogs, caramel apples, cotton candy, nachos, baked goods, and hot and cold drinks. Participants can play games for prizes. Games offered will be a ping pong toss, spin the wheel, pick-up ducks, ring toss, corn hole, lollipop tree and more.
All proceeds from the event will support field trips and enrichment activities for students. Field trips can range in cost from several hundred to several thousand dollars. For the past several years, the PTA at Rupert has raised all of the money for class trips. These trips allow students to make real-world connections with what they are learning in the classroom. Time and again, learning is brought to life by various enrichment activities which are funded only by community support.
In addition to food and games, the PTA has added a silent auction as a new feature this year. Many local businesses and individuals have donated items for the auction. For more information on how you can donate or support the fall festival, contact Joanna Post at jo.post@yahoo.com or 304-228-7704.
