Red Nose Night in honor of Chally Erb
Local entertainer Chally Erb will be remembered during the Aug. 29 evening performance of Tuesdays with Morrie at Greenbrier Valley Theatre. Chally was a prominent entertainer of all kinds, and a friend to all he met. His uniqueness shone through and rubbed off on all that he touched, from city events he liked to attend in full costume, to his performances with the Trillium Performing Arts Collective and Greenbrier Valley Theatre.
Red Nose Night on Aug. 29 honors this local legend who touched so many lives. Two dollars of every ticket sale for the Aug. 29 evening performance will be donated to the ALS Association in honor of Chally Erb. In addition, red noses will be sold that evening for $5 each and all proceeds will be donated as well.
Tuesdays with Morrie is an adaptation from Mitch Albom’s 1997 memoir about the author’s re-connection with his former college sociology professor, Morrie Schwartz, who is dying of ALS. They meet for 14 Tuesdays to discuss life’s final lessons on love, work, aging, and death.
“My family and I would like to express our gratitude to Greenbrier Valley Theatre for remembering my father, Chally Erb and his passion for performance arts and the importance of live theatre,” says Deva Wagner. “Even as he struggled with movement after being diagnosed with ALS, he continued his involvement in performance and theater. He certainly had no shortage of inspiration or ideas. Luckily, he had willing members of our community to help him carry those out. We are grateful for GVT’s dedication to Chally and look forward to the production of Tuesdays with Morrie.”
Tickets for Tuesdays with Morrie are available at gvtheatre.org/2026-season or by calling 304-645-3838.
