The executive committee of the Andrew Lewis chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) meet to plan the celebration of the 125th anniversary of NSDAR’s founding on Oct. 11, 1890. As a service organization DAR members have volunteered over 740,000 hours this year promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism under the motto “God, Home and Country.” The National NSDAR “Day of Service” on Oct. 11, 125 years to the day after the society was founded will be celebrated in Lewisburg on Saturday, Oct. 10, during T.O.O.T. Come by the L&R Railroad kiosk on Court Street to learn more about the founding of DAR and the contributions the society makes to keep alive the rich history of our country as well as the many programs and activities of the National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution.
