Local artists awarded at Alleghany Highlands Fall Festival

The Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, VA, has announced the 2016 Fall Festival Art Show participants and prize winners. Local artists Marietta Lyall, Karen McClung, Judie Lewis and Rose Dobbins were among the award winners in the show.
Lyall won honorable mention in the oil/acrylic category with her entry “I Love You More.” McClung received second place in watercolor for her painting “The Coming Storm.” Lewis was awarded second place in drawing for her piece titled “Just Watching,” and Dobbins received first place in pastels for her painting titled “The Melt” and recognition for her entire body of work.
The art work is currently on display at the Art Center’s Gallery in Clifton Forge. The exhibit will run through Nov. 25. The exhibit is free to the public during the Center’s hours, 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at 439 E Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge.
