On November 1, 2020 Linda Charlette “Charlie” Hunter, loving mother and Granny passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer.

Charlie was born in St. Marys, MD. Her childhood was spent moving around the US as part of a Navy family. Her most memorable and fond home was Newfoundland, Canada.

Charlie built her life and family in West Virginia. She was a hard-working mother who devoted herself entirely to her children. She was a strong person and faced any obstacle and fight with every ounce of strength she had. Becoming a Granny was her most prized title and she gave every bit of love to these precious jewels of hers.

Charlie was preceded in death by an angel baby born too soon; mother, Elsie Epling; and sister, Brenda Toni.

She was survived by her daughters, Amanda Cannon and husband Tom of Cornstalk, Latasha Owens and husband Brandon of Renick; her beloved grandchildren, Cameron Hunter-Cannon, Dana Cannon, Bryson Owens, Walker Hager, and Grace Sealey, also an anxiously anticipated Abraham Owens arriving soon; her Mom and Dad, Glen and Dorothy Hunter of Crawley; siblings, June Sprouse of Lewisburg, Jean Scruggs and husband Steve of Kentucky, Terrie Grimmett and husband Barry of Neola, Mike Hunter and wife Pam of Rupert, Teresa Shuck and husband Ronnie of Danese, and Tonia Hunter of Alderson; several nieces and nephews she loved dearly; also her beloved former husband, David Hunter; and very close friend, Kathy Hunter of Cornstalk.

Family and friends are invited to attend viewing and services in her honor at Wallace & Wallace in Lewisburg, Thursday, Nov. 5, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Hunter’s Scarlet Oak Cemetery.
