Founded in 1977, by Mr. Robert Head, Plants, Etc. and Bookstore is Lewisburg’s oldest store. The Bookstore continues the founder’s legacy by offering curious shoppers a special space for discovering a rare selection of books that are scarce and out of print.
Today, this 100% woman owned business, Plants, Etc. also provides community members and visitors to Lewisburg an opportunity to purchase art and numerous other items created in West Virginia and surrounding regions. You will find a sense of joy, welcome, and whimsy once you enter the door.
Plants, Etc. and Bookstore are celebrating their 49th birthday in August, 2026 with a grand series of events. Kicking off the month’s events are two opportunities to enjoy the beauty, artistry, joy, and community of Plants, Etc. and Bookstore.
On Saturday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. join Plants, Etc. and Dr. Rob Meyer-Kukan from 7 Notes Natural Health for a sound bath in the hidden garden. The sound bath is offered to the community FREE of charge.
On Friday, Aug. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m., as part of First Friday’s After 5 in Downtown Lewisburg, enjoy light refreshments, wine, and herbal tea. To mark the occasion, a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce will take place.
