Historic Downtown Lewisburg celebrates First Fridays after Five on Friday, June 3. Join the fun – live music, art events and more – all free to the public. Everyone is welcome.
Join in the festivities of the Greenbrier Valley Quarterly’s 2nd Annual Zenith Awards Reception at Harmony Ridge Gallery. The Zenith Award is given to those who have dedicated their lives to helping others and creating a better community. Help celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s five recipients. (209 West Washington Street, 304-645-4333)
Patina hosts Headturner Acres, a small farm in West Virginia, who will demonstrate How to Felt Soap from sheep wool. Stop by for the demo and enjoy some summer punch. (117 East Washington Street, 304-529-4952)
The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center celebrates the arrival of June by featuring Fabric and More, a collection of unique fiber art, including creative combinations of fabric, acrylic, pastel, stained glass, ribbon, beads and feathers by local artist Shoshanna Schwimmer. The Visitors Center also presents a collection of 18th and 19th century agricultural tools, donated to the Greenbrier Historical Society. These tools show the craftsmanship, skill, and struggle that early pioneers had to endure. Throughout the evening, enjoy the entertaining tunes of Strum Sum Band and buy your Rubber Ducky tickets from Ronceverte River Festival representatives. (200 W. Washington Street, 304-645-1000)
Join the WV Fine Artisans Gallery as they celebrate their Grand Opening at the “Old Hardware Gallery” Building. Meet the artists and browse the hundreds of art works on display. Their mission is to be an active art center, featuring working artists demonstrating their talents to the public and offering classes in all mediums. (118 West Washington Street, 304-647-0230)
Love Child presents Story Time at 5:30 and 6 p.m. Everyone who stops by also gets to create their own glow in the dark Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty. (124 West Washington Street, 304-520-4934)
Plants Etc presents Robert Wilson on clarinet with an eclectic blend of folk, jazz and modern. (102 South Jefferson Street, 304-645-6910)
At the Irish Pub, Celtic musician Patrick O’Flaherty will play traditional Irish music from 4-8 p.m., and then at 9 p.m., local duo Rivertown Gypsies will take the stage with their soulful mix of original songs and old favorites. (109 East Washington Street, 304-645-7386)
To round off the evening, The Asylum introduces their June cocktails and features the live music of The Parachute Brigade from 9 p.m. to midnight. 114 East Randolph Street, 681-318-3515.
