The City of Lewisburg is competing in the nationally recognized America in Bloom program in hopes of becoming named one of the prettiest small towns in the nation. This organization promotes beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.
The City would like to encourage everyone to participate in the competition by tidying up your storefronts, touching up paint, cleaning off the winter residue, washing windows, removing loose wires, picking up stray litter, and generally performing a spring cleanup.
“Judges from the America in Bloom organization will be in Lewisburg July 7, 8 and 9 and we need everyone’s help in making Lewisburg as beautiful and delightful as it can be,” says Lewisburg in Bloom Coordinator Shannon Beatty.
For more information on the program, or how you can help Lewisburg become “judge ready,” contact Shannon Beatty at 304-645-3776 ext. 121 or sbeatty@lewisburg-wv.com.
