During a regular session on Tuesday, July 21, The Lewisburg City Council unanimously approved a bid to renovate the HVAC at City Hall. City Manager Misty Hill advised five companies participated in the bidding process but only two of those submitted bids. The bid accepted was in the amount of $722,174, which was the lowest bid.
In addition to the City Hall HVAC bid, bids have been received to renovate the Greenbrier County Public Library’s HVAC system. The Council tabled a vote on approval of the bid pending further communication with the Library’s Board of Trustees.
Also on the agenda was the second reading and public hearing of Ordinance 334, Health and Sanitation Code. Mayor Beverly White opened the floor for public comment. There were no comments from the public and the measure was approved.
Councilman Seams introduced several measures recommended by the finance committee. Among those measures was bid approval for new and updated playground equipment for Hollowell Park. The cost of the $74,996 bid will be shared by the City and The Hollowell Foundation. The Council approved the measure. Other measures recommended by the Finance Committee included public works equipment, tactical police training, updates to the city’s employee payscale, and funding for the Lewisburg Literary Festival. All measures were approved.
The next Lewisburg City Council meeting is slated for 7 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2026.
