Lewisburg Christmas Parade returns Saturday

The Lewisburg Christmas Parade will return this Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. Residents are encouraged to find a spot on Washington Street and watch the festivities. Rumor has it Santa Claus has been conspiring with the Lewisburg Fire Department to make an appearance at the parade.

Residents are asked to please be aware Lee Street at Lewisburg United Methodist Church and Randolph Street will be closed beginning at 12:15 p.m. for the line up of parade participants. Washington Street will be closed from Lee Street to Church Street from 12:50 p.m. until the completion of the parade.

Parade participants should arrive at the old Lewisburg Elementary School at 11:45 a.m. for registration and line up. This year’s prize categories will be: Best Band, Most Excellent Equestrian, Fiercest Fire Engine, Lightfoot Award (for best on-foot entry), Most Fabulous Float, Vintage Vehicle Award, and The People’s Choice Award. Participants are encouraged to get creative and compete for a winning trophy. Three esteemed judges, Mark Bowe, Kelli Martin and Dr. Coy Flowers will judge the categories and award the trophies.
