Leslie Wayne Windon, 48, of Little River, SC, a native of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away at MUSC in Charleston, SC, on May 12, 2026, with his family by his side.

Born on Nov. 11, 1977, Leslie grew up in White Sulphur Springs and graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1996. During his early teens, Leslie was a member of the Boy Scouts. After graduating, Leslie had several different jobs, one of which was training police K-9 dogs. He loved the dogs he worked with and enjoyed his time with them. Once he moved to South Carolina, Leslie was certified and worked, for many years, in the insecticide/pest control business.

Leslie had many talents and enjoyed several different hobbies including online gaming. He had a “steel trap” mind for trivia. He collected knives and had his own knife sharpening equipment and would sharpen the knives for different area restaurants, near where he lived. He also became certified to sharpen barber and beautician scissors so that he could assist them also. Leslie was of the Christian faith and old Bibles were something else he collected. He always carried a Bible in his truck, just in case he met someone who needed one. He loved the outdoors and fishing and was an avid gun collector and enjoyed target shooting. Leslie was a prankster and enjoyed making others laugh and was always quick to offer a big smile. Leslie Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Graham Windon, his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Barbara Windon, and his maternal grandparents, Wilbur Wickline and Blanche Wickline; his uncle, Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Wickline, and his stepsister, Lori S. Liptrap.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Debbie (Jim) Craft of White Sulphur Springs; his father Les F (Jan) Windon, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his step-brothers, Jamie Craft and Nathan (Mallory) Craft of White Sulphur Springs and his step-sister, Wendy (Shafran) Liptrap-Fields of Myrtle Beach, SC; his aunts, Donna Blake, Doris Glover and Kimberly (Emmett) Sullivan, all of White Sulphur Springs; Bonnie Clendenin and Vickie Frazier, of Rustburg, VA and Tasha Sheppard, of Statesville, NC; uncle Danny Windon of Rustburg, VA; great-aunt Irma Heath, of Richmond, VA; great uncles Don Blake, Sr. of Frankford, WV and Dair Blake of Harrington, DE as well as, long time friends, Michele Barsolona, Bobbie Cutler and his good buddy, John, all of South Carolina as well as many many cousins, all who loved him dearly. He also leaves behind his two fur babies, his cats, Gracie and Suzanna, who miss him greatly.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 27, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, 175 Mountain Avenue, White Sulphur Springs, WV. The visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Bobby McClintic officiating.
