Leroy Walton Smith

Creamery-Leroy Walton Smith, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, following a long illness.

He was born Jan. 1, 1940, in Sinks Grove, a son of the late John and Lilly Bowyer Smith.

After graduating from Greenville High School, Leroy was self-employed, working as mechanic and operating a lawn care service. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, hunting, working, and enjoying life, but most of all as a loving husband and father. 

Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria Jean (Mann) Smith; his sons, Marvin E. Smith and wife Kathy of Ballengee, Randy L. Smith and wife Lisa of Hilldale, Eddie D. Smith and wife of Lynchburg, VA; daughters, Brenda L. Fox and husband Tim of Talcott and Debra A. Smith of Creamery; his brother, Blaine Smith and wife Cathy of Wayside; his 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Smith; and his sisters, Elizabeth Longanacre and Dreama Comer.  

Funeral services will be on Sunday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson, with Pastor Jim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery at Creamery. 

Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 13, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.

Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Joe Mann, Marvin Smith, Randy Smith, Marvin Smith, Jr., Eddie Smith, Tim Fox, and Timothy Fox.
