New River Community and Technical College will offer a hands-on basic jewelry workshop in three evening sessions beginning Thursday, Jan. 30. Additional sessions will be held Feb. 6 and 13. All sessions will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. in Building D at New River’s Lee Street Complex (former Lewisburg Elementary School) in Lewisburg.

Only six students will be admitted to the workshop, allowing plenty of time for one-on-one interaction with instructor Lisa Circle. The basic tools and materials will be provided. Students will complete a minimum of three pieces of jewelry and generate ideas for future projects.

Attendees will keep everything created in the workshop. If pieces are not completed by the end of the last session, attendees may take the materials home to complete them there. Do not purchase any new tools or beads before attending class. Do bring a hand towel.

Tuition is $55, and there is a $35 materials fee. The registration deadline is Jan. 22. For additional information or to register, contact New River’s Office of Workforce Education in Lewisburg at 304-793-6101 or 793-3001.
