Renick-Kermit Douglas Hodge, 81, left for his Heavenly reward on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.

Kermit grew up in Cabin Creek and never lost his love for the place or the people. He and his family came to Greenbrier County in 1974, went to work for BF Goodrich, and began farming. He served Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, the Renick community and Greenbrier County for over 40 years.

Kermit is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Hodge; his two sisters, Freda Hudnall and Shirley Bailey; brother, Larry Hodge; four sons Michael (wife Judy), Eric (wife Jan), Jay (wife Miquelont) and Jason (wife Teresa); and daughter, Debi Hodge-Betsill (husband Danny); seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a service at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Renick on Saturday, Jan. 28. The family will receive guests from 11 a.m.  to 1 p.m., immediately followed by a celebration of life.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements. Please send online condolences by visiting www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com.
