Kathy Boswell

Roanoke Rapids, NC-Kathy Boswell, 63, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. She was born in Bainbridge, MD, daughter of the late Snowden Boswell and Bertie Lee Manning Boswell.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia Wesleyan and her Masters from West Virginia University.

Throughout her life she lived and worked in Washington, DC, Calhoun County, WV, Roanoke Rapids Graded School District, Clara Hearne and Belmont Elementary as a K-12 guidance Counselor. She and her son worked together for the Daily Herald for a number of years delivering the news of the day.

Kathy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Surviving are her only son, Noah Boswell; future daughter-in-law, Maria Fernanda Villarroel; and partner, Edward Killibrew.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Alvon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.
