\r\n\r\n<strong>Elkins\u00a0<\/strong>- Kathleen Barbara Colaw, 92, formerly of Durbin, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Colonial Place.\r\n\r\nKathleen was born Apr. 7, 1925, to the late Howard and Lejetta Rexrode Mullenax.\r\n\r\nOn Feb. 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to June V. Colaw who preceded her in death May 9, 2016. They were married for over 71 years.\r\n\r\nKathleen worked 23 years as a cook for the Pocahontas County Board of Education at Durbin Grade School and Greenbrier Elementary\/Middle School. She loved doing things for her family and made many beautiful embroidery items for them to cherish. Kathleen was a member of the Durbin United Methodist Church and had been a member of Durbin Church of the Brethren for over 40 years. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Cass Chapter of the Eastern Star.\r\n\r\nIn addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred Mullenax of Blue Grass, VA; and stepmother, Bernice Beverage of Durbin.\r\n\r\nSurviving are three children, Robert of Elkins, Cheryl (Ronnie) Baker of Ronceverte, and Doris (Danny) Nelson of Elkins; two grandsons, Trevor (Jennifer) of Broadway, VA and Kevin (Heather) Baker of Rainelle; three great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lindsay Nelson and Kolton Baker; halfbrother, Howard (Carol) Mullenax of North Carolina; and halfsister, Betty Woodford of North Carolina.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. An Eastern Star service will be held at 12:50 p.m. followed by the service at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Fuller officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery on Back Mountain Road, Durbin.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Kathleen\u2019s memory to Durbin Community Library, P.O.
