Alderson Energy Express is in its fifth week of the program and the theme for the week is “Community.” The children are reading books and doing activities related to people in the community, such as the mayor, fire department, police, etc. On Tuesday, Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department in Alderson talked to the children about fire safety. Corporal Todd Williams, from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, returned this week for some more one-on-one reading time with the children. Karen Lobban, a Greenbrier County Commissioner, also came on Wednesday to read to the children and talk about her occupation. Pictured with Karen Lobban (in no particular order) are volunteer Maddie Dodrill, volunteer Payton Williams, Energy Express mentor Rebekah Poe, Laiha Young, Adison Meyers, Preston Sizemore, Brooklyn Williams, Rocco Zeboskey, Emelia Piercy, Isabella Loyola and Caleb McMillion.
