Circuit Judge Robert E. Richardson is scheduled to speak at the West Virginia Judicial Association’s spring education conference next month in Bridgeport regarding recent developments in the law concerning civil proceedings. The event is attended by circuit judges from around the state, as well as by judges of the Intermediate Court of Appeals and justices of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. This is the fourth time that Judge Richardson has been invited to update his fellow judges regarding civil matters at the Association’s semiannual conference. “The West Virginia Judicial Association is a valuable resource for judges across the state,” Richardson stated. “This conference gives us the opportunity to keep up with important changes in laws, precedents, and legal interpretations, so that we can make proper decisions in the cases that come before us as judges. I’m honored to be called upon by my colleagues in the Judicial Association to speak at this event.”
Judge Richardson is the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties. He was appointed to the bench in 2014, and then elected for a full eight-year term in 2016. Prior to becoming a judge, he practiced law for 27 years, representing clients in both civil and criminal litigation, as well as in a wide range of estate planning, real estate and business matters.
