Alderson-Joseph Emerson Smith, 60, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, in his home.
Joseph was born Apr. 23, 1956, in Huntington, to the late Albert Smith and Pansy Lee Rudel Provo and raised by Edward Provo.
He was a retired Staff Sergeant of the United States Army. Joseph was also a security guard at the Beckley Treatment Center.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jane Lester Smith; daughter, Casey Jo Smith of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Marilyn Edmonds and husband Roger of Brownstown, MI, Honey Lynn Rowe and husband Robert of Monroe, MI, and Rachael Tecmire and husband Mark of Lambertville, MI.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Lewisburg where Pastor Johnathan Turner officiated. Burial followed in the McMillion Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Friends and family gathered at the funeral home before the service.
