Buckeye-John Wallace Burns Jr., 68, passed away at his home Monday, July 20, 2020.

Born July 13, 1952, in Union, he was a son of the late John Wallace, Sr. and Mary Lewis Persinger Burns.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Terry Lynn Miller, and a brother, Rodney Wayne Burns.

John was a Baptist by faith, and a laborer for 30 years for Appalachian Aggregates.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Norma Mansfield Burns; daughter, Staci Burns and husband Stacey Green of Marlinton; son, Kody Burns of home; granddaughter, Leanne Green of Marlinton; two sisters, Darlene Clarkson and husband Kelvin, and Charlene Dunbar and husband Chris both of Union; brothers, James Burns and wife Becky, and Carl Burns and wife Bonnie both of Fort Spring; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson with Pastor Gary Baker officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Fort Spring.

Visitation will be held Sunday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Due to Covid -19 masks must be worn and all guidelines will be honored.
