Lake Placid, FL-Emory Russell Boone, 94, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020. in Lake Placid, FL. He was formerly of Lewisburg.

Emory was born on Dec. 18, 1925, in Knox, PA, to the late Laura Loudermilk Boone and Darius Boone.

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Henry Boone.

Emory was a veteran, he served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1946 from the U.S. Army and from the U.S. Air Force in 1962. Emory retired from the federal government in 1986.

Emory taught school in Japan and finished his career in the U.S. After retirement he spent his summers in Lewisburg, and winters across the warmer parts of the country from San Diego, CA to Homestead, FL.

He also loved riding his bike and hiking on the river trail, growing a garden and reading.

He is survived by nieces, Janice Boone and Jackie LaRue; nephews Tyson and Russell; great-nephew, Joel LaRue all of Lewisburg; special cousins, Howard Neal II (Danielle) Lexi and Howie Neal of Lake Placid, FL, and Michelle Neal (Randy) Aisia and Anaya Maynard of Avon Park, FL; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will have a memorial at a later date.
