<strong><img class="wp-image-31593 alignleft" src="https:\/\/mountainmedianews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2018\/03\/John-McCoy-obit-e1520008231677.jpg" alt="" width="140" height="186" \/>Lewisburg\u00a0<\/strong>- John (Johnny) R. McCoy, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Peyton Hospice House after a short illness.\r\n\r\nJohn was born July 8,1928, to the late Lawrence and Maude Spinks McCoy.\r\n\r\nJohn was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Helen.\r\n\r\nJohn worked at The Greenbrier Hotel as night auditor and in the purchasing department. John enjoyed playing cards and pool with his friends. He loved sitting on a bench downtown where he never met a stranger.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his daughter, Debra and son-in-law, Todd; granddaughters, Kristin (Justin) Hume of Rogers, Arkansas, Marissa (Jacob) Harrison of Buford, Georgia and Taylor (Drew) Seldomridge of Dacula, Georgia; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Rae.\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held Saturday, Apr. 14 at 1 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church with Rev Rick Brown officiating. John donated his body to WVSOM.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers please donate to Lewisburg United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
