Lewisburg-John Quincy Adams Richmond, Jr., 91, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Seasons Place in Lewisburg.

Born Mar. 1, 1929, in Hinton, he was the son of the late John Quincy Adams Richmond, Sr., and Crystal Fern Turner Richmond.

John served his country in Korea from 1950 to 1953 as a Corporal with the 45th Infantry Division after basic training at Camp Chafee, AR. After graduating from Lewisburg High School, he attended Roanoke National Business College. As a career man, John retired from One Valley Bank as Vice President. He was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church for over 50 years, as well as a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Men, a former usher, and Sunday School Treasurer.

He was a WVU fan and enjoyed all the games. He also enjoyed camping and traveling.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, John Michael Richmond; his brothers, Arthur Richmond, and Donald Richmond, and great grandson Henry Quick.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Elizabeth Nickell Richmond; daughter, Cindy R. Quick and husband Mike of Lewisburg; son, David Richmond and wife Mary of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Heather Quick Hancock and husband Rich of Radford, VA, Chris Quick and wife Julianna of Lewisburg, Kevin Quick of Lewisburg, Camy Geide and husband Mike of Vienna, VA, Byron Spivey and wife Jamie of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandchildren, Nora Quick, Bryce, Jocelyn and Zander Spivey, Bria and Silas Geide; and brother, Jack Richmond of Roanoke, VA.

Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service was held at Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg, where Pastors Tim Halloran, Bev Colombo, and intern Tyler Bland officiated.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Lewisburg United Methodist Church, 1133 East Washington Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or Kanawha HospiceCare, Inc., 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Seasons Place, and Hospice for all their loving care.
