Neola-John F. Martin, 74, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, after a long illness.
He attended Greenbrier schools and was a graduate of Lincoln Tech Institute and Lehigh Community College in Pennsylvania. He served in the Military from 1965-1967 in Korea and served as an Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He was employed by the Pennsylvania bureau of Forestry until his retirement in 2003. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren about the outdoors.
He was the son of the late Jake and Elizabeth Martin of Neola.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Victoria Vandegrift Martin; son, John Martin and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Sale Creek, TN; daughter, Mary Martin Hoke and son-in-law Matthew Hoke of Shady Springs; sister, Ora Trainer Henson of Clintonville; grandchildren, Derrick and Spencer Wenrick of Weikert, PA, Ethan, Alexandria and Wyatt Hoke of Shady Springs; step-granddaughter, Cailey Lusk of Shepherdstown; Thomas and Charity Martin of Sale Creek, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were: two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Martin and Elizabeth Martin Wenrick; brothers, Bill and Robert Martin; and sisters, Virginia Polite, Stella Stalnecker, Betty Radford and Glenda Martin.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24, at 1 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Lewisburg Chapel. The family will receive their friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service. Following the memorial service there will be a meal at the Neola Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs.
