White Sulphur Springs-Joanna Walton Dineen, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her residence with her family by her side.
Born Aug. 6, 1941, at Renick, she was a daughter of the late Edward Alphine and Edna Catherine Halterman Walton.
Joanna was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and was a reservationist for The Greenbrier Hotel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elden, Larry, Henry and Earl Walton; and two brothers-in-law, Harold McMillion and Clyde Miller.
She is survived by: her husband, Richard “Dick” Dineen; daughter, Lori Gormley and husband Bill of Kansas City, MO; their children, Jayden, Matthew and Brooklyn; daughter, Kelly Vaughan and companion Lee Meadows of White Sulphur Springs; their children, Garrett, Ty and Isabell; son, Sean Dineen and wife Danica of White Sulphur Springs; their children, Michael and Jared; and son, Michael Dineen of White Sulphur Springs and his daughter Emma; also surviving are sisters, Helen McMillion of Frankford, Phyllis Miller of Maxwelton. and Sue Wyman and husband John of Maxwelton: brother, Don Walton of Maxwelton; and sister-in-law, Joyce Walton of Frankford.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 21, at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs, where Father Chapin Engler officiated.
The family received friends Friday evening, June 20, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
