Jo Ellen (Morris) Holt, 86, of Ronceverte, went to rest on Friday, May 30, 2025 from Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.
Born Dec. 14, 1938, at Lizemores, Clay Co., WV, she was a daughter of the late, Freeman R. and Frances B. Moore Morris.
Jo Ellen was a member of the VFW Auxiliary; loved sewing, quilting, gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed visit nursing homes sharing magazines and spending time with the residents.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Holt; brothers, Donald Morris, Bobby Morris and Dewey “Kermit” Morris; and sisters, Dorothy Cogar, Emma Price and Rose Helen Davis.
She is survived by daughters, Donna Hill (Gary) of Charleston, WV, and Frances Holt of Roanoke, VA; sisters, Elaine Pritt and Nola Schoolcraft; and brothers, Freeman “Buckshot” Morris, James “Picky” Morris and Carman “Edsel” Morris.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, with Pastor Cliff Stone officiating. There will be no public visitation.
The family would like to thank the people from Hospice for the care given to their mother.
