Fort Spring-Janice “Jewell” Napier, 91, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh, NC.

She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Greenbrier County, a daughter of the late Berman and Lona Ingles Humphreys.

Jewell was a homemaker and a member of Sinks Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James T. McDaniel and George Napier, daughter-in-law, Kay McDaniel; two sisters, Ruth Mottesheard and husband Bill and Georgie Mottesheard and husband Charlie; brother, Mark Humphreys and wife Roxie; and niece, Ellen Fowler.

She is survived by son, James “Tony” McDaniel of Youngsville, NC; granddaughter, Kelly Medlin and husband Robert of Roanoke, VA; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Bird and Kayse Medlin, both of Roanoke, VA; nephews, John Willard Humphreys and wife Peggy of Virginia Beach, VA, Willis Humphreys and wife Carolyn of Alderson, Ron Fowler of Fayetteville, NC and Don Napier of Lewisburg, a nephew of her second husband George.

Her funeral service was held on Thursday, Sept. 22, at Sinks Grove Baptist Church where Rev. Emory Hanna officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

A visitation was held Wednesday evening, Sept. 21, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
