Lewisburg-James R. “Jim” Wade, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
Born Nov. 26, 1953, at Marlinton, he was a son of Betty Wade Doss of Marlinton and the late George Robert Wade.
Jim was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He recently retired from ABB in Lewisburg after over 30 years of service. He was also a member of the Rupert Rifle Club, was a HAM radio operator and enjoyed bicycling and NASCAR. He found joy in volunteering and helping others. He was always ready when asked to help.
Jim also proudly served his country as an Air Force veteran, an Army Reservist and served in the National Guard.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Gray Wade and stepfather, Paul Raymond Doss.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Betty Wade Doss of Marlinton; two sisters, Barbara (John) Pellegrin of Parkersburg and Cheryl Burks of Hillsboro; and two nephews, Jeremy (Missy) Burks of Princeton and Wes (Jaime) Burks of Morgantown.
Jim chose to donate his body to the Human Gift Registry at the Osteopathic School of Medicine in Lewisburg.
A celebration life was held Monday, July 3, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, where Father John Rice officiated.
Friends visited the family at the funeral home prior to the service.
