White Sulphur Springs-James “Jimmy” Lewis Waid passed away on Friday, Apr. 22, 2016, after a sudden illness.

Born June 29, 1954, in White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late James L. and Agnes J. Dolin Waid.

He was a detail worker in transportation at The Greenbrier. Jimmy was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Christ in Fairlea. He wrote songs and sang them in the church. He was also an artist and loved to do craft work.

Survivors include: his wife at home, Mary Beth Waid; brothers and sisters, Bernie G. Waid, Kathy Martin (Emory D.), Larry C. Waid (Dianne), Lester W. Waid (Sheila), Lucy L. Ridgeway (Johnny), Evelyn M. Ridgeway (Paul) and Steve R. Waid (Nicole); nieces and nephews, Emory Jr. Martin, Larry Waid Jr., Joshua and Matthew Waid, Jessica and Rebecca Ridgeway, PJ and Priscilla Ridgeway, Lacy and Sununer Waid.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Apr. 25, in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where Rev. Calvin Wykle officiated. Burial was in Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.

Visitation was at the funeral home before the service.
