Jack Dean Hoover

Jack Dean Hoover was born on Nov. 26, 1937, in Valley Head, WV. He passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.  He was the son of the late Jessie Hoover and mother Etrula Ruth Hoover.

Jack was married to Lorena E. Salisbury on June 3, 1956.

Preceding Jack in death besides his parents were four siblings, Jessie Hoover and Frank Hoover of Valley Head and Arch Hoover of Huttonsville, and sister, Vicky Shreve of Buckhannon.

He is survived by wife, Lorena E Salisbury; three sons and two daughters, Jackie V. Hoover and wife Darlene Hoover of Summerfield, OH, Ronald Hoover and wife Mary Hoover of Buckhannon, VA, Jody Hoover and wife Gina Hoover of Troutville, VA, and daughters, Carol Lancaster and husband John Lancaster of Hico, and Denise Minor and husband Dr. William Minor of Ruff Creek, PA; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gary Hoover and wife Arlene of Valley Head, and two surviving sisters, Cheryl Moore and husband Leonard of Valley Head and Beverly Lantz and husband Sam of Windsor Heights; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a member of Gordon Freewill Baptist Church in Charmco. He enjoyed visiting people from the church and helping there whenever he was able. Jack worked for Leivsay Mining #7 mines in Leivsay and was a member of UMWA for 35 years.  Jack enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, outdoor sports and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 12 noon on Friday, Apr. 27, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Kermit Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Lewisburg.

In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Gordon Freewill Baptist Church, 2440 Midland Trail W, Charmco, WV 25958.
