Jack Dale Hayes, 77, of Lewisburg passed away on Feb. 21, 2024. He was born on Oct. 6, 1946, in Ronceverte. He was the son of the late Gordon Rutherford Hayes and Ethel Mae King Hayes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Hayes, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Alice Hayes, Tammy Hayes, Debbie Shuler and Stevie Hayes; brothers-in-law, Dale Flanagan, Ken Dickson and a cherished friend, Walter Neely.

Jack was of the Baptist faith and a US Army Veteran with the rank of Sergeant in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherry; sons, Joel Hayes and Justin Hayes both of Ronceverte; sisters, Dolores Flanagan of Smithers, Wanda Dickson of Temple Hills, MD; brothers, Earl (Jeanie) Hayes of Summersville and Ben (Libby) Hayes of Bumpass, VA; grandchild, Kiah Hill; several nieces and nephews; and feline companion, Kat Man Du.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Clintonville, with Friend and Pastor Clifford “Bubby” Kuhn officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until time of service at the Mausoleum Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Greenbrier County Humane Society, 151 Holliday Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
