A new community tradition is set to begin this summer in Ronceverte as the Island Park Flea Market officially launches on Saturday, July 5, running from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market will be held every Tuesday and Saturday at Island Park (weather permitting), just below the amphitheater near Mulligan’s.
“We’ve been working on this for about two years now,” said organizer Martha Morgan. She explained that since the State Fairgrounds no longer hosts a weekly Flea Market on Tuesdays in the summer, only the spring and fall giant flea markets, this Island Park Flea Market will be the only weekly flea market in Greenbrier County. The Market will be held every Tuesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the weather allows.
Vendors interested in participating can simply show up the day of the event. A $10 setup fee is required each day and will be paid directly to the city via the organizers, who will collect and deliver fees to City Hall. Setup begins at 6:30 a.m., with no reservation or pre-registration required.
“Join us for opening day of the Island Park Flea Market in Ronceverte, WV, on Saturday, July 5th! Explore a variety of vendors offering antiques, vintage treasures, handmade crafts, collectibles, and much more,” states Island Park Flea Market’s social media.
Morgan said that they hope to grow momentum with the number of vendors and the variety of items as the Market gets more established. With the Jardin by the River minigolf course set to open later this year, Island Park will soon be a destination for family-friendly summertime events.
