Ira Wallace Napier

Lewisburg-Ira Wallace Napier, 84, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg.

Born Nov. 9, 1933, at Lewisburg, he was the son of the late William Andrew and Mary Thelma Staton Napier.

Wallace had retired from the WV Department of Highways and was a US Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Napier; brothers, Jesse, George, Charles, Robert, William and Eugene Napier; and sisters, Myra Wade, Beulah Gillenwater, Margaret Sampson and Ruby Sheppard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Elizabeth Judy Napier; two daughters, Diane Elizabeth Napier and Debra Sue Smith both of Lewisburg; brother, Thomas Napier of White Sulphur Springs; sisters, Sarah Fitzwater and Shirley McCarthney both of Lewisburg and Beatrice Tullis of Georgia; grandchildren, Paul Michael Napier, Ashley Ann Blankenship and Brittany Nicole Smith; great-grandchildren, Chelsye Lynn Napier, Mercedes Hope Blankenship, Ayden Ray Smith and Willow Ivory Smith; and  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held, Thursday, May 31, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, where Pastor Hat Defibaugh officiated. Burial was in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was Wednesday, May 30, at the funeral home.
