Howard Silas Wilson, 90, of Ronceverte, passed away Tuesday, Apr. 8, 2025, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.

He was born Dec. 9, 1934, at Sinks Grove, WV, a son of the late Clell Wilson and the late Bessie Burns Bland.

Howard was retired from Lewisburg Wholesale Co. in Ronceverte and was a U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Veteran and an MP.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughters, Jacquelyn Joyce Striffler and Constance Ann Wilson; sister, Thelma Dunbar; and brothers, Virgil, Marvin, James, Alta and Wallace Wilson and the mother of his children, Charlotte Moody.

He is survived by daughters, Sharon Wilson of Lewisburg, Carol Hall (Rodney White) of White Sulphur Springs, and Sheila Kirby (Donnie) of Hancock, MD; son, Sam Wilson (Rose) of Salt Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Larry, Joseph, Aaron, Travis, Lisa, Carressa, Kayla, Nathan, Chris and Mikey; great-grandchildren, Ben, Jaden, Jacob, Gabby, Lilly, Gage, Remi, Arianna “Dora”, Kya “Chipmunk”, Cylas “J.J.”, Barrett “B”, and Corbin; sisters, Shirley Wilson of Ronceverte, Virginia Dunbar of Lewisburg, Jo Ann Bostic of White Sulphur Springs, and Carol Hager of Ronceverte; brother, Forrest “Bunk” Wilson; and special friends, Calvin and Terry Elmore. Also surviving are two grand-pups, Autumn and Beau and one beloved cat he called, “Booboo”.

The family would like to give special thanks to Meals on Wheels, Dr. Wickline’s Office, Dr. Heather Ratliff, Alleghany Regional Hospital and Brian Center in Low Moor, VA, Amedisys Health Nurses Lori and Jessie, White Sulphur Springs Nursing Home, the staff at CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and Peyton Hospice House.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 14, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte, with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

A visitation will be Sunday, Apr. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ronceverte.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Kirby, Rodney White, Sam Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Chris Wilson and Mikey Wilson.
