On Sept. 14, at 10 a.m., Greenbrier County Housing Authority will open the waiting list for Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) for Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas counties. Applications will be taken by phone at 304-645-4966. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list on the basis of the time and date of their phone call.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program assists low-income clients with rental housing. Once you telephone The Housing Authority office, you will be mailed an application. Your application will be placed on the waiting list, and as applicants’ names reach the top position, letters are mailed to them with instructions on obtaining their voucher.
The waiting list will remain open at least until September, but only will close as soon after that as sufficient names are received, so call as soon as possible.
