House and Garden Club holds July meeting

Lewisburg House and Garden Club members met Wednesday, July 27, at the residence of Judy Deegans. The meeting was co-hosted by Karen Lee McClung.
The business meeting was conducted by Susanne Perilli Hancock in the absence of the club president.
Discussion was held regarding the June Homes Tour, sponsored by the Lewisburg Garden Clubs, and a full report should be available from all clubs in August. A new project will include Ronceverte Elementary to establish a sunflower contest for the students in the coming year. A three-member nominating committee was chosen to seek officers for president, second vice president and correspondent secretary for a two-year period beginning in 2017.
Following the meeting, a delicious dessert course was provided by the hostesses.
Members present were Jeri Banton Via, Sharon Holladay, Peggy Brown, Susanne P. Hancock, Mary Lindquist, Polley Cunningham, Susan Harkness, Dee Myers, Mimi deOlloqui-Turner, Mary Jo Thompson, Pat Wingo, MaritWithrow, Karen Lee McClung and Judy Deegans.
The next meeting will be held Aug. 24 at the residence of Rebecca Gaujot, and the program will be presented by the Master Gardeners group on “Intensive Gardening.”
