The Mountaineer Horseshoe Club will conduct NHPA sanctioned league mixed play on Tuesday nights at Island Park courts in Ronceverte this summer.

A 90 percent handicap type scoring will be used in a 50 shoe game. Each pitcher will have two scheduled games per week. Mixed play allows those who pitch 30 and 40 feet to pitch against one another as approved by the NHPA.

The signup deadline for league play is May 22. Anyone interested in pitching should be at the courts any Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. before deadline, or call Allen Withrow at 304-667-1374. League play is to start on May 29 at 6 p.m. All new or first time players are encouraged to come and join the league this summer.

The Mountaineer Horseshoe Club will host the 81st annual West Virginia state horseshoe tournament at Island Park in Ronceverte, the weekend of Aug. 25.

There is going to be a ringer count all tournament at the courts during the river festival on June 9, players need to be signed up by 10 a.m. on the day of tournament, the entry fee is $20.
