Hope Pearl (Adkins) Ames, 72, of Springdale, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, following a long illness.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1952, in Blue Sulphur Springs; she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lucille Adkins.
Hope loved gardening, flowers, canning, yard sales and being outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years and 10 months, George C. Ames; siblings, Fred Bennett of Arizona, John Bennett of Arizona and Marcia Wickline of North Carolina.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Sherry Goff-Gill (James Vandall) of Dawson, Crystal Vandall (William Johnson) of Layland and Amanda Vanmeter (Darrell) of Talcott; two sons, Patrick Ames (Aaron) of California and Landon Ames; three brothers,, Wilson Bryant (Irene) of White Sulphur Springs, Norman Adkins of Elton and Mark Adkins (Arlene) of Elton; three sisters, Edith Gentman of Arizona, RosaLee Goddard (James) of Hinton and Virginia Berry (Bill) of Meadow Bridge; three grandchildren, Aaron (Christian) Goff of Dawson, Shay (Sara) Goff of Dawson and Leland Vandall of Layland; great grandchildren, Liam, Maverick, Richard, Eligh, Liam, Everett, Colson and Cahlen all of Dawson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, special friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Goff, Shay Goff, Leland Vandall, Bryan Adkins, William Johnson and James Vandall.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Virginia Berry for everything she has done.
Service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle. A burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral chapel.
