Local high school seniors in Greenbrier and Monroe counties will celebrate their high school graduation this weekend.
Greenbrier East High School will hold its commencement exercises on Friday, May 30, starting at 7 p.m. at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds in Fairlea. Seniors are asked to arrive by 6 p.m. Greenbrier West High School seniors will graduate the following day on Saturday, May 31, at 7 p.m., also at the state fairgrounds, with seniors asked to arrive at 5:45 p.m.
In Monroe County, James Monroe High School’s graduation ceremony is set for Friday, May 30, starting at 7 p.m. at James Monroe High School.
School officials encourage attendees to arrive early and allow extra time for parking. Residents are advised to use caution in the area or plan alternate routes due to the extra traffic in the Fairlea area immediately following the ceremonies.
