Auditions will be held at the Historic Fayette Theater (HFT) for “Miracle on 34th Street” Monday, Sept. 9 and Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. both evenings.

Director Gene Worthington, who has directed numerous plays at HFT, such as “The First Baptist of Ivey Gap,” “Smoke on the Mountain,” “Smoke on the Mountain Christmas,” “Smoke on the Mountain Reunion,” “A Christmas Carol” and the award winning “Grace and Glorie,” is in need of a large cast ensemble for this production. There are 20 roles available for all ages, children through adult.

This hilarious, tender and charming show for the entire family is a Christmas classic. “Miracle on 34th Street” is the traditional story of Kris Kringle, he the personification of good will and holiday spirit. As Macy’s holiday Santa, Kris enchants children and shoppers so completely that he is deemed dangerous by fellow employees who question his competency and plot to ruin him. A small girl’s belief in Santa and the magic of the holiday is at stake in a climactic courtroom decision.

Show performance dates are Nov. 29 and 30, Dec. 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 1 and 8 at 2 p.m.

Interested actors/actresses only need to attend one audition night. And a prepared piece is not necessary, as the director will have a script for you at the theater. Please feel free to call Gene Worthington at 304-575-5770, for additional information.
