Henry Lloyd Hinkle Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV. Born Apr. 28, 1950, in Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Henry L. Hinkle Sr. and Mary Edith McMillion Hinkle.
Lloyd was a 1968 graduate of Union High School. He served in the Army Reserves for 4 years and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He worked for the Monroe County Board of Education as a bus driver for 15 years. Additionally, he served as President of Monroe County School Service Personnel Association for several years and served on the WVSSPA Executive Committee in Charleston for several years. Lloyd loved all sports, but especially loved NASCAR. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Sean Hinkle; and daughter-in-law, Kendra Hinkle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda Ratliff Hinkle; son, Michael Travis Hinkle of Union, WV; stepson, Steven McMahan and wife Toby of Wayside, WV; guardian son, Lane Gregory of Lindside, WV; grandchildren, Sarah Grace McMahan and Nicholas McMahan and wife Sydney; great-grandson, Ashton McMahan; sister, Terry Hinkle Elmore and husband Calvin of Ronceverte, WV; and several other extended family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, at the Crimson Springs Church in Zenith, WV, with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at the church.
