The ladies of the Henning Church of God held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Apr. 12, in the church fellowship hall. Carole Spencer presided and Marty Burns led in prayer.

Dyan Hefner presents the devotion, “Stand by Your God,” with scripture reference Psalm 116:2. Also in Galatians 5, we need to walk in the fruits of the spirit. The fruits of the spirit include, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Everyone is busy. Do you have time to do one more thing? Do you read your Bible and pray? Are you doing what is important? Make time for the most important person in your life which is God. The creator of the universe wants to meet with us daily. We need to have a willing heart and can pray anytime of the day or night. We need to communicate with him and praise God for who he is, thank God for all, confess our faults, pray for family, government, pastor, church offices, missionaries and self. This time is never wasted.

Kim Brookman brought us our missionary education report about Ukraine by Carl Stagner. The Church of God in the United States and Canada has responded with generosity along with the Church of God in Germany. The Church of God in Germany is responsible for distributing the aid to Ukraine which includes shelter, food, water and much more. She also shared about how other countries around the world celebrate Easter.

Jamie Harvey gave the treasurer’s report. Pauline Perkins read last month’s minutes.

Carole Spencer thanked members for helping with the yard sale in March and Joan for the wonderful tea party. The members will be serving the Maxwelton Ruritans on Apr. 28. The next yard sale will be on Saturday, May 14. The group already has many items to sell. The group will also sell homemade baked goods along with hot dogs and homemade toppings.

Marty Burns gave the mile of pennies report which was started in May 2014. The total balance needed is $844.80. The group lacks $78.77 to complete the mile of pennies.

The members closed their meeting by filling plastic eggs with candy for the Easter egg hunt to be held on Saturday.

Dyan Hefner dismissed in prayer. The next meeting will be held on May 10.

Attending were: Alice Coff, Angie Scott, Carole Spencer, Cindy Fleshman, Carol Spencer, Donna Scott, Dyan Hefner, Jamie Harvey, Joan Vance, Kim Brookman, Marsha Merritt, Marty Burns, Patty Owens, Pauline Perkins, Peggy Seldomridge, and Sue Hunt.
