White Sulphur Springs-Helen Gillespie Clark, 98, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center.

Born in Slaty Fork, WV, on Sept. 21, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John Marvin and Iona Painter Gillespie Rivoire.

Mrs. Clark was a life-long resident of White Sulphur Springs, a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, the White Sulphur Springs Women’s club, and the former Old White Garden Club. She was a director (emeritus) with the Hillcrest Community Cemetery Association, White Sulphur Springs. A graduate of the National Business College in Roanoke, VA, she worked most of her life at Kay Bolger’s Antique Shop at The Greenbrier.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Marshall Clark in 1991; daughter, Nancy Clark McKeever; and brother, Jack Gillespie.

Survivors include son, John M. Clark (Cheryl) of Wake Forest, NC; sister, Betty Sue Perkins of White Sulphur Springs; son-in-law, Mike McKeever of Laurel, MD; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor Sheri Dawn Stilgenbauer officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.

Visitation will be Friday evening, July 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs.
