Hazel Elizabeth Pinnell, 87, of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at her home in White Sulphur Springs with her family by her side.
Born July 21, 1938, at White Sulphur Springs, she was a daughter of the late Gay Berry Clendenen and Nellie Virginia Wade Clendenen.
Hazel was a member of White Sulphur Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and formerly worked in the laundry departmt The Greenbrier Hotel. She retired as a head cook and dining room supervisor at Anthony Correctional Center after 21 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Oliver Pinnell on Mar. 5, 2000; two sisters, Ruby Davis and Shelby Wykle and brothers, Cleo and Nelson Clendenen.
She is survived by a son, Donald “Donnie” Pinnell, Jr. (Danica); two daughters, Susan Pinnell (Jimmy Ridgeway) and Debbie Belcher (Roger); three grandchildren, Allison, Seth and Brooke; great-grandson, Bohdi; and three sisters, Phyllis Campbell, Rosie Bennett and Okell Camp.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in White Sulphur Springs, with Pastor Lowell O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday
