The Official Guest Book at The Greenbrier dates back to 1913, and the first page in that book, as well as copies of pages from the VIP guest book, which has been signed by celebrities and dignitaries throughout the resort’s history, are on display in The Greenbrier’s lower lobby as part of the resort’s 238th Birthday Celebration.
A new Guest Book is also available for guests to carry on the tradition and become a part of The Greenbrier’s rich history by creating a permanent record of their visit. The registry hasn’t been available for guests in decades, but the Birthday Celebration served as the perfect occasion for its return.
Among the signatures included in the VIP guest registry are those of United States Senator Barry Goldwater, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, former United States Presidents George H. W. Bush, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, Princess Grace of Monaco and Howard Hughes.
The display will continually be updated to give guests a look at some of the famous guests who have enjoyed stays at The Greenbrier over the years and their impressions of the historic resort.
“Guests books are nothing new in the hospitality industry,” said Jeff Kmiec, President and Managing Director, The Greenbrier. “But taking a look back through ours provides an exciting glimpse into some of the amazing history of The Greenbrier. We greatly value every one of our guests and are proud to have a lasting record of their visits.”
