<strong>Ronceverte<\/strong>-Grover A. Thompson, Sr., 82, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA.\r\n\r\nBorn Apr. 10, 1935, Grover was the son of the late Charles Anderson, Jr. and the late Almeda Thompson.\r\n\r\nGrover was an electrician and plumber with Brown\u2019s Construction and retired from BF Goodrich. He was a member of the Graystone Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran.\r\n\r\nBesides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Grover A. \u201cChip\u201d Thompson; and sisters, Lucille Myrick and Gertrude Nelson.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Emily Louise Bailey Thompson; daughters, Gail Suttle (Bill) of Clintonville, and Pam Tate (Mark) of North Carolina; sons, Virgil Allen Frett (Kim) of Alabama and Edward Lee \u201cSkip\u201d Thompson (Robin) of Organ Cave; sisters, Shirley Sneed (Howard) of Rainelle, Tammy Turner (Rob) of Ronceverte, and Patty Griffieth (Mike) of Ohio; brother, Bill Thompson (Carolyn) of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Dale, Christina Leon, Kimberly Aston, Chad Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, Jennifer Howard, Billy Suttle, Scott Tate, and Grant Tate; 7 great-grandchildren, Alexis Froe, Naomi Leon, Zachery Gross, Devin Gross, Jaxon Suttle, and Jason Suttle.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held Friday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. at Graystone Baptist Church in Ronceverte, with Pastor Youel Altizer and Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.\r\n\r\nFriends may gather at the church on Friday, Dec. 17, from 1 p.m. until the time of service.\r\n\r\nWallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
