School Spots Still Available
Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is proud to continue our Student Matinee Program! This fall, we will be presenting the world’s longest running play, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, the ultimate classic mystery!
The GVT Student Matinee Program includes discounted tickets for students, free tickets for teachers and chaperones, access to a comprehensive study guide about the production, an opportunity to attend a talk back with the cast and creative team, and space available to eat packed lunches after the performance. After the performance, teachers and students will be asked to complete a short online feedback form to help us continue to apply for and receive our grant funding.
The GVT Student Matinee Program is made possible through grant funding from the Daywood Foundation.
The Mousetrap is also made possible through the continued partnership with WVU’s College of Creative Arts and Media. This partnership covers all expenses for professional combat choreographer Whit Emerson to choreograph fight scenes in the play and offer a stage combat workshop for GVT After-School Classes students.
- Run time: approximately 2 hours with a 10 minute intermission
- Mature themes such as death and violence will be explored (rated PG-13)
- Recommended for middle school ages and above
Student Matinee performance dates: Oct. 27, 28, 29, 30, Nov. 3, 4, 5, 6
All performances begin at 10 a.m. Dates fill up quickly and are filled on a first come, first served basis via an online form. On the form, teachers will provide 3 date options and they will be assigned a date based on group size and availability. Depending on group sizes, each matinee can seat multiple schools. The theatre has a total seating capacity of 141.
