At this year’s Bramwell Oktoberfest the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company (GVBC), located in Lewisburg, not only won first place for its Devil Anse IPA and second place for its Mothman IPA but took Best of Show for Devil Anse IPA. When it was announced that GVBC had won the coveted Best of Show Award the crowd erupted with cheers as assistant brewer William Gudmundsson was presented the Bramwell Cup then ceremoniously placed in a chariot and paraded throughout the crowd by the other brewers. All this while everyone was yelling “Hail Greenbrier!”

West Virginia breweries took home 17 of the 22 possible awards. The winning of the Bramwell Cup couldn’t come at any better of a time for GVBC. In November, GVBC will have their own canning line on hand, and by the middle of January 2016 you will be able to purchase the Devil Anse IPA in a can. GVBC has a bag full of exciting events planned for 2016, dates will be published on their Facebook and web page.
