Greenbrier Technologies helps Family Refuge Center give families a Merry Christmas

On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Greenbrier Technologies teamed up with the Family Refuge Center to help throw a Christmas party for the parents and children served by FRC in 2015. Greenbrier Technologies sponsored a holiday dinner of turkey, ham and all the fixings. Additionally, the Lewisburg-based technology company ensured that Santa had a gift bag to offer each child in attendance.

The Family Refuge Center provides shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties.

Laura Hosey, community education and communications coordinator with the FRC, said, “This year’s Annual Kid’s Party was a tremendous success. Through donations and sponsors, we were able to make Christmas a little merrier for more than 70 children in our area, that otherwise, may not have had any gifts this year. With the support of local businesses, we were able to host a great party complete with food, crafts, and a visit from Santa. We are so fortunate to live in such a fabulous, giving community.”

Bill Lenherr, president of Greenbrier Technologies, said, “The Family Refuge Center provides support to families who have suffered the devastation of abuse. I am, in turn, proud to support their good work. Our participation in their annual holiday party is just a small gesture of gratitude and acknowledgment of their efforts all year long.”
