Several members of the Greenbrier County Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) attended the WVCEOS Annual Leadership and Enrichment Conference Oct. 6-8 at WVU Jackson’s Mill.
The theme was “Volunteers in Action.” Those attending were Judy Lohmeyer, Mary Mitchell, Deloris Lilly, Marge Witcher, Barbara Deeds, Sue Nickell and Blanche Knicely. Members participated in educational workshops, leadership training updates, and learned about community service opportunities. Over 298 CEOS members from 54 counties attended the event.
WVCEOS is a voluntary nonprofit organization working in corporation with WVU Extension Service. Together members conduct and participate in motivating educational activities that help members continue education, gain leadership, and inspire community involvement. In Greenbrier County there are 10 community clubs that have monthly meetings. Members also attend county, area, and state workshops and trainings. For more information about this group, please call Kay Davis, WVU extension agent, at 304-647-7408.
